Inverted Pyramid Writing

What an Inverted Pyramid Structure is
An inverted pyramid is a triangle that is upside down you use it in writing to write the most crucial stuff first and least crucial stuff last. It is a very common style for writing and it's a good way to arrange facts. When you use the inverted pyramid it exactly look like an upside down pyramid, it's just saying that the biggest and most important facts go in the beginning and least important goes on the bottom.

How the Inverted Pyramid Structure is Important
It is very important in writing because when you use it your audience will be excited already and in a news article you want to get to the most crucial facts first. It is a good ways to show how important facts are and why they're so important.

How You Would Apply This in Everyday Life
You could be writing an essay and you would apply this info because you would need to put the most important first and least important last. Or if your cooking something you would put the most important ingredients first not last.

Bias in Journalism

Knowing What Bias Means And How It Could Affect You.
Bias means prejudice, it means to unfair opinion to something or someone, but in journalism it means to have an opinion on something. If you look to your left you will see how bad being bias could be. It could create problems, like maybe thats how me might of started a war.

How It's Important In Everyday Life
It's important unless you want to start a war (just kidding). Not being bias could help in everyday life to help not geting in an argument about little stupid things like if a piece of pie taste good or not. But you could  be bias not even in journalism is like racist, sexist, or something else thats dumb.

How You Would Use This Information In Writing
You could this information in writing by not being bias like do not say "oh this is the best item in the world because it can float" or something really bad like that. If your bias then your a bad author because you will taking the side of one thing or person.

Journalism Integrity

Knowing What Journalistic Integrity Means And How It Could Affect You
This is the main thing to journalism, to always be honest, no plagiarism, and to never value your own opinion when writing. That's what you and a bunch of other people call integrity. Integrity is like a "Code of Conduct" except just for journalism, but it is something you always follow typing an essay or news report or even a blog like this.

  • Responsibility (of newspaper and journalist)
  • Freedom of the Press (“a vital right of mankind”)
  • Independence (fidelity to the public interest)
  • Sincerity, Truthfulness, Accuracy (good faith with reader)
  • Impartiality (news reports free from opinion or bias)
  • Fair Play, Decency (recognition of private rights, prompt correction of errors) ~MarketingProfs
http://oneguysjourney.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/journalism_011.jpgIt Is Important To Not Show Your Own Opinions
You should never say things in your own opinion like
"Mr.DeZutti's tie was very nice", because you should only tell facts. So instead of the tie looking nice you could fix it by putting facts in it, say "Mr.DeZutti's neck tie had lots of polka-dots and squares".

   Why It's Important
Journalistic Integrity is great especially for this class because THIS IS A JOURNALISM CLASS! So this will have to help you in this class because if you just put a whole bunch of facts in your blog then you will get your grade lowered, and that I know is a fact.
